What to Expect
What to Anticipate at Auckland Wellness Centre Chiropractic
Expect a unique and refreshing experience. Whether you’re new to chiropractic care or have previous experience, your visit to Auckland Wellness Centre will be distinctive and potentially life-changing.
Firstly, there’s no need to schedule an appointment. Visit us during our open hours, and our licensed chiropractors will see you at your convenience, including evenings and weekends. No referral or insurance is necessary, enabling you to receive immediate care. You may have a short wait while you complete your initial paperwork, which helps our chiropractors understand your health history and current needs.
During your first visit, your chiropractor will explain the causes of joint dysfunctions, how chiropractic adjustments correct them, and the various benefits of chiropractic care. If you’ve never had an adjustment before, this is a great opportunity to get your questions answered by a knowledgeable, licensed Doctor of Chiropractic. The doctor will address any concerns before beginning treatment.
Your Consultation, Examination, and Adjustment
Following a consultation and examination, the chiropractor will determine if chiropractic care is suitable for you. If it is, you will receive an adjustment in an open bay area on a comfortable adjustment table. You’ll remain fully clothed, so it’s advisable to wear non-restrictive clothing. Adjustments may be performed while you are lying face down, on your side, sitting upright, or lying on your back.

What Causes the Popping Sound During an Adjustment?
The popping sounds are caused by your joints releasing tiny pockets of gas. A chiropractic adjustment affects the connective tissue holding the joint together, rather than the bones themselves.
Is Chiropractic Care Safe?
Chiropractic care is non-invasive, drug-free, and one of the safest healthcare options available. The risk to patients is significantly lower compared to medical care involving prescription drugs or surgery.
Does Chiropractic Care Cause Pain?
Chiropractic adjustments are highly controlled and rarely cause discomfort because they use minimal force and gentle pressure. Most patients feel immediate relief following treatment.
Will I Be Sore After an Adjustment?
Any soreness after an initial adjustment is similar to the feeling of starting a new exercise program. Drinking plenty of water, using an ice pack, and light stretching can help ease any discomfort and promote healing.
How Long Will My Visits Last?
The duration of your visit depends on the severity of your condition. Most first visits last around 30 ~ 60 minutes, while follow-up visits can be as short as 20 ~ 45 minutes.
How Frequently Will I Need to Return?
At the end of your first visit, your chiropractor will recommend a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. The frequency of visits will depend on your condition and overall health goals. Just like regular dental check-ups, routine chiropractic visits are essential for maintaining proper spinal function and health.
Our chiropractors provide care through chiropractic adjustments. If, during your examination, the doctor determines that chiropractic care is not suitable for you, you will be referred to the appropriate healthcare provider or facility.
