Do I need a GP referral to see a chiropractor or acupuncturist?
No. Chiropractors and acupuncturists at Auckland Wellness Centre are ACC treatment providers, so you can book directly and lodge an ACC claim for an injury without a GP referral. For general, non-injury care you simply book in online or by phone.
How much does ACC chiropractic treatment cost?
ACC chiropractic visits are a flat $40 co-payment per visit at Auckland Wellness Centre. Without ACC, a new patient chiropractic assessment is $105 and follow-up visits are $70. We confirm the cost with you before treatment, so there are no surprises.
How much does ACC acupuncture cost?
ACC acupuncture is $0 per visit with Mike Lee, Elaine Yang or Ada Zhong, and $10 with Zhiyi Qian (Master of Medicine). With Dr. Robin Won, New Zealand's only registered Acupuncture Specialist, or Dr. Boram Kim (PhD), the ACC co-payment is $20, or $10 for under-18s and seniors 70+. Private acupuncture is $80 for an initial consultation and $70 for follow-ups.
Who are the practitioners at Auckland Wellness Centre?
Our clinical team is 11 ACC-registered practitioners plus one chiropractic intern. The five registered chiropractors are Dr. Jun, Dr. Michael Blandy, Dr. Brian Bae, Dr. Ti Hill and Dr. Mayyada Mahmoud (Pregnancy and Women's Health, at our Milford clinic), and Eton Nelson is completing his chiropractic internship at Rosedale. The six acupuncture and Chinese medicine practitioners are Dr. Robin Won, New Zealand's only registered Acupuncture Specialist, Dr. Boram Kim (PhD, Milford), Mike Lee, Elaine Yang, Ada Zhong and Zhiyi Qian (Milford).
Can I get treatment in Korean or Chinese?
Yes. Korean-speaking practitioners are Dr. Jun, Dr. Brian Bae, Dr. Robin Won, Mike Lee and Dr. Boram Kim (KakaoTalk: AWC2013). Mandarin-speaking practitioners are Ada Zhong, Elaine Yang, Zhiyi Qian and Dr. Boram Kim. Dr. Mayyada Mahmoud consults in Arabic. Our Rosedale front desk also speaks Korean. All practitioners consult in English.
What are your opening hours?
Auckland Wellness Centre Rosedale is open 7 days: Monday 9am-7pm, Tuesday 7am-9pm, Wednesday 9am-7pm, Thursday 7am-7pm, Friday 9am-7pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm. Early, late and weekend appointments make it easier to fit care around work.
Where is Auckland Wellness Centre and is there parking?
Our established clinic is at E2/27 William Pickering Drive, Rosedale, on Auckland's North Shore, with free on-site parking. A second clinic is open at 177B Shakespeare Road, Milford. Rosedale is a short drive from the Constellation Drive and Greville Road motorway exits.
What conditions can your chiropractors help with?
Our chiropractors see and help with neck and back pain, sciatica, disc-related pain, posture problems, tension and cervicogenic headaches, and sports or work injuries. Every visit starts with an assessment so your care is matched to you.
Do you offer spinal decompression therapy?
Yes. Auckland Wellness Centre offers non-surgical spinal decompression therapy, commonly chosen for disc-related pain. Sessions are $50, with follow-ups $50 and ACC-covered visits $30. Your practitioner will confirm whether decompression is appropriate after your assessment.
How long is an appointment?
Chiropractic visits are around 30 minutes, acupuncture visits around 60 minutes, and spinal decompression sessions around 30 minutes. Your first visit includes an assessment, so allow a little extra time for it.
Does ACC cover treatment if I am on a work or student visa?
Yes. ACC covers everyone in New Zealand who has an injury from an accident, including visitors, students and people on work visas. If your pain is injury-related, you can book directly with our ACC-registered practitioners, and we lodge the claim for you at the clinic.
