Fertility Acupuncture in Auckland
Our acupuncturists see people who are trying to conceive naturally and people going through IVF or IUI. Care is led by Dr. Robin Won, registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand under the statutory Specialist Scope, with Ada Zhong and Dr. Boram Kim, who both focus on women's health. Consultations are available in English, Korean and Mandarin, at Rosedale and Milford, 7 days a week.

Women and couples trying to conceive, people preparing for or going through IVF, IUI or egg freezing, and people who want support with cycle regularity. Many come alongside care from their fertility clinic or GP, and we work around that plan.

Trying naturally
Regular sessions timed to your cycle, with attention to sleep, stress and lifestyle habits that you can work on between visits.
Alongside IVF
We time sessions around your clinic's schedule, including before and after embryo transfer, and keep to what your specialist advises.
Whole-person care
Acupuncture can be combined with cupping, moxibustion and, where appropriate, Chinese herbal medicine from a registered practitioner.
What a session involves
Every plan is individual. A typical course looks like this:
- First consultation: health and cycle history, current fertility treatment, and your goals.
- Treatment plan: most people come weekly, with timing adjusted to your cycle or IVF dates.
- Treatment: fine sterile single-use needles, usually 30 to 45 minutes in a quiet room.
- Review: we check in regularly and adjust the plan as your treatment changes.
Your practitioners
Dr. Robin Won
Dr. Won holds a PhD in Chinese medicine and has 26 years of clinical experience, with a long-standing interest in fertility care, chronic migraine and pain. Registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand under the statutory Specialist Scope.
Ada Zhong
Ada trained at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and focuses on women's health, pregnancy support and fertility. CMCNZ registered. At Milford, Dr. Boram Kim (PhD) also sees women's health and fertility patients in English, Korean and Mandarin.
Fees
Fertility acupuncture is private care, as ACC covers injuries only. Private acupuncture starts at $80 for the first visit. Ask us about the fee for your practitioner when you book. We accept EFTPOS, cards and cash.
Before your first visit
- Bring your cycle dates and any fertility treatment timetable you have.
- List any medicines and supplements you are taking.
- Eat a light meal beforehand and wear comfortable clothing.
- Tell us if you might already be pregnant, so we can adjust the treatment.

Can I have acupuncture during IVF?
Yes. We plan sessions around your clinic's schedule and follow any guidance from your specialist.
How often should I come?
Most people come weekly. We suggest a plan at your first visit based on your cycle and treatment dates.
Does ACC cover fertility acupuncture?
No. ACC covers injuries only, so fertility acupuncture is private care.
Can I see someone who speaks Korean or Mandarin?
Yes. Dr. Robin Won and Dr. Boram Kim speak Korean. Ada Zhong and Dr. Boram Kim speak Mandarin.
Which clinic should I book?
Dr. Robin Won is at Rosedale. Ada Zhong works at both Rosedale and Milford. Dr. Boram Kim is at Milford.
Do you also see people during pregnancy?
Yes. Our acupuncturists also provide pregnancy acupuncture once you are pregnant.
